Al Marco has always loved art but it wasn't until 1982 that he left his position in a law firm producing trial graphics to venture full-time into the production of fine art prints. He began by creating limited edition serigraphs out of a rented warehouse in Gardena, California. With perseverance and 19-hour work days, Marco Fine Arts made a mark in the art world by publishing the works of master painter John Asaro. Successive editions followed by other artists including John Nieto, Sharon Burkett Kaiser, Aldo Luongo and Guy Buffet. Within a few short years, Marco had built a strong reputation and was nationally known as a leader in fine art serigraphy printing. Marco Fine Arts continued to grow and evolve, and eventually forayed into the fine art market, publishing contemporary artists such as Robert Indiana, Donald Sultan and David Mamet. The Atelier also introduced a series of Master Contemporary Books through its fine art division, MFA Contemporary Atelier. While upholding the highest standards and quality for a traditional printing art form, Marco, always the progressive visionary, recognized the future of digital print media and started to experiment with digital solutions. In 2000, Marco was appointed CEO of Brightcube, Inc., a publicly held company specializing in digital imaging products and services. In the next several years, Brightcube brought to the market several award winning substrates that created a strong impact in the digital market.

Since then, Marco has further ventured into the digital market by contemporizing his Atelier to include the production of fine art-quality digital images (Giclées) along with the traditional serigraphy presses MFA has been known for. He is also co-founder of Charta Group, a company focusing on digital specialty substrates for fine art, graphics and photography. Their cutting edge products are used by some of the most famous art and photo studios around the world. It has been over 20 years since Marco had his humble beginnings and today, he and the company he built is still known not only as one of the largest and last remaining serigraphy studios in the country, but also as one of the most progressive studios using state-of-the-art technology and equipment with ever-evolving solutions and products.  © 2005 Copyright MFA Atelier, Inc.
